DRMC presents Community Music for all ages and abilities
Through Music Arts our mission is to create and strengthen community bonds and wellbeing
We believe music is a core human need and that group music making has a binding effect on people and community.
We engage with professional artists locally and internationally
The Dandenong Ranges Music Council Incorporated is an arts organisation serving the Shire of Yarra Ranges and beyond. The office is located in Upwey in the Dandenong Ranges, east of Melbourne. The DRMC has been funding, facilitating and teaching community music for over thirty years. The Dandenong Ranges Music Council Inc. is assisted by Yarra Ranges Council.
We believe community music is for everyone, beginner to professional. It enriches our lives and gives us opportunities locally to sing, play, perform, jam, create and listen.

The Dandenong Ranges Music Council has been awarded a $5032.50 Community Heritage Grant to fund a Preservation Needs Assessment to assist in the identification and preservation of a community-owned but nationally significant heritage collection.
The grant was announced at the National Library of Australia in Canberra on 25th October 2016.
Ray Yates said the grant was important in supporting the effort to preserve the DRMC collection at the grassroots level. "While the grant provides the funds, the offered preservation and collection management workshop offers the expertise to help us protect our collection and make it accessible while it remains in the local context" he said. The outcome of the project will be recommendations for the methodology and priorities to plan for the convservation activities and collection management.
