The Dandenong Ranges Music Council Incorporated is an arts organisation serving the Shire of Yarra Ranges and beyond. The office is located in Upwey in the Dandenong Ranges, east of Melbourne. The DRMC has been funding, facilitating and teaching community music for over thirty years. The Dandenong Ranges Music Council Inc. is assisted by Yarra Ranges Council.

We believe community music is for everyone, beginner to professional. It enriches our lives and gives us opportunities locally to sing, play, perform, jam, create and listen.

UPWEY HIGH SCHOOL UPGRADE INCLUDED IN STATE BUDGET

The DRMC will have a new home as part of a $10m upgrade to Upwey High School. 

The project is part of a $685 million investment announced in the Victorian Budget 2017/18 to improve classrooms, upgrade facilities and build new schools across the state as well as creating local jobs.

DRMC Board member Ray Yates said ‘In this day and age, it is inspiring to find that ambitions and aspirations are the guiding light for our local member, the Honourable James Merlino.  This new facility for DRMC will be a boost for our musical community and a beacon for the development and promotion of music and arts in the core curriculum'.
