Music Centre

The Dandenong Ranges Music Centre was established in 1990 in its own building on the grounds of Upwey High School, 1451 Burwood Highway, Upwey. Melway map 75 B8.

The Centre contains offices of Dandenong Ranges Music Council and Ranges Community Music School. There are two large spaces for rehearsals, workshops and small performances, a music library, kitchen facilities, storage rooms, trailer for band equipment and garage for trailer. Previously, since the establishment of DRMC in 1979, the business was conducted from private homes. Click here for a more detailed history of the Centre.

Music School

Ranges Music School
The Ranges Community Music School was established in 1993 as a joint initiative of the Dandenong Ranges Music Council and Upwey High School Council as a pilot project funded by the Department of Education. In 2009 the Ranges Music School will operate as a Unit of the DRMC with the brief to provide high quality, accessible music education programs to schools and the broader community across all ages and skill levels. This includes our instrumental tuition program, co-ordinating community events and professional development opportunities for local music professionals.

Time Out for Musos

A get together will be held at the DRMC for musicians, music teachers, musical directors, accompanists ect. who live in the Yarra Ranges to meet each other and explore how they might become involved in community music.
