The Dandenong Ranges Music Council Inc. creates and connects communities for people of all ages and abilites through music.  The DRMC is a community-based organization that creates opportunities for people to be involved in a diverse range of musical activites. These include particpation in ongoing ensembles and vocal groups and particapting in one-off projects, which bring together amateur musicians with renowned professionals in the spirit of sharing knowedge and giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy music with the aim of developing musical potential and enjoying the process of making music together.

How does one get involved in the DRMC?

First you decide what it is you wish to do: Play in a band or orchestra? Sing in a choir? Become part of a composers' group? Encourage your children to develop an interest in muisc? Are you interested in Jazz, Classical, African Drumming, Blues, or Music Theatre? Conctact our offcie to find out more: drmc@drmc.org.au

Who can join?

Everyone and anyone is welcome to join: all people, all ages and abilities, and all styles of music.

The fees for joining the DRMC are:

$40 concession, $50 single, and $60 family.

Choice of ensembles

When you become a member of the DRMC, you are then elligible to particapte in the various ensembels and vocal groups. The main ensembles are the Dandenong Ranges Orchestra, the Dandenong Ranges Big Band, the New Horizons Concert Band, The Dandenong Ranges Hot Jazz Orchestra, the Ranges Young Strings, and the Happy Wanderers (singers). Each ensemble has running costs, which they cover through rehearsal fees and which are kept to a minimum. The fees are used for musical directors and conductors, accompanists, sheet music, rent and venue hire, and equipment. For more information go to the 'Ensembles' menu on this web page or click here:

DRMC Management

The DRMC has a 10-member Board of Management, which is elected each year in April. The members of the current Board are:

Each ensemble in the DRMC also has its onwn management committee. The committee is responsible for handling the group's finances, organising rehearsals and concerts, music hire, personnel, and transport of equipment.

Dandenong Ranges Music Council Inc. is a member of Community Music Victoira Inc. and is also affiliated with the Music Council of Australia.
